New UAE visa rules 2024 news:
In a recent statement, UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) announced that people who have not yet renewed their residency visa and were thus charged with a fine shall have a two-month grace period to have their fines waived and renew their residency visa or leave the UAE without accruing fines.
The grace period started on 1 September and will continue till 30 October 2024. The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security announces a waiver of financial penalties for violators of the Foreign Entry and Residence Law, providing them a grace period to regularize their status.
What are the new visa rules for Dubai and the UAE?
Visit visas
The UAE visit visa is an entry permit that allows individuals to visit the country for tourism, visiting relatives, attending a mission, exploring business or job opportunities, receiving medical treatment, studying and training, and transiting through the UAE.
UAE visit visas are valid for 30/60 days, depending on the type.
As per the latest rules in the UAE, the following are relevant for UAE and Dubai visit visas as implemented by the UAE Government:
Extension
- The UAE has implemented a one-time 30-day visa extension for travelers on 90-day visit visas, allowing for a total extension of up to 90 days.
- Visa holders do not need to leave and re-enter the country to extend their visas; however, they must ensure the renewal process is completed before expiry. They can also contact their visa-issuing agent for an extension.
- All types of tourist visas can now be extended for 30 more days from within the country.

Latest requirements
As per some Dubai travel agents, the following are some of the latest requirements to apply for a UAE visit visa:
- Monetary requirements: Travelers heading to Dubai on visit visas should ensure they have AED 3,000 or USD 817 in cash or credit before boarding their flights.
- Accommodation reservations: You must have proof of your stay, i.e., a hotel or residential address in the UAE.
Please note that the following general requirements, as released by GDRFAD, must also be met:
- Valid return tickets: Travelers must pre-book a valid return ticket before boarding their flight to the UAE or Dubai with a visit visa.
- Valid travel documents: A passport that is valid throughout the entirety of our visit.
- Insurance: You must have relevant health insurance to cover the cost of medical bills in case of any emergencies during your visit to the UAE.
Residence visas
